Select a holiday you are interested in, then contact us to confirm the holiday is suitable for your needs and that there are vacancies. We will then you send you an application form, a terms and conditions form, an itinerary and invoice. We can post or email these documents.
The application form and terms and conditions form need to be completed, signed and returned to Supported Holidays Victoria (SHV) along with a 10% non-refundable deposit.
You will receive a receipt for your deposit. Full payment for all holidays is required 60 days prior to departure. Upon full payment SHV will send you a letter with final arrangements listed such as what to pack and where to meet.
Please use the application form to tell us about your needs. Our holidays are based on guests with mild to moderate support needs and a staff: guest ratio of 1: 4. If you have higher support needs please discuss this with us at the time of booking. We may be able to provide a higher level of support if required, however this may be at an additional cost. Medium support needs may require a guest ratio of 1:3 and high support needs would be 1:1.
If you require overnight support before or after the holiday we may be able to provide this. Please discuss this with us at the time of booking, this would be at an additional cost.
Holidays can be organised to personally suit a guest on a 1:1 basis. We look forward to assisting and supporting our guests to achieve their dreams and experience the wonder of travel.
The holiday price includes all travel, accommodation, meals and some entry fees to attractions. We use the company bus for transportation and a range of accommodation including holiday houses, motels and hostels. The holiday price does not include travel insurance, personal spending money (for drinks, souvenirs and so on) and transfers to and from Ballarat.
We recommend that guests take out their own travel insurance to cover for cancellations, medical expenses, personal accidents, personal baggage and public liability. Assistance can be provided if required.
Payments can be made by cheque, money order and direct deposit into SHV bank account. More details about payment methods will be provided during the application process.
Refunds for cancellation of booked holidays are dependent on how much notice has been given.
Up to one month prior to departure a full refund less the 10% non-refundable deposit.
Up to three weeks prior to departure 75% refund less the 10% non-refundable deposit.
Less than three weeks prior to departure - No refund.
Holidays can be cancelled at SHV's discretion (such as when a minimum number of places for a holiday have not been booked). In this situation guests can choose between a full refund or a credit towards another holiday of their choice.
An additional cost of up to $500.00 could be incurred in the event of an emergency or other situation where a guest has to be escorted home separately due to illness or other emergencies outside SHV's control.
All applications are subject to acceptance by SHV. All application forms must be signed by the guest or their Guardian or Carer. SHV may modify a holiday itinerary at its discretion as required and the guest will not be entitled to a refund. Prices quoted are subject to change without notice. If assistance is required with medication we request that guests provide sufficient medication including 3 days spare medication to SHV at the commencement of the holiday.
We are based in Ballarat and all holidays depart from and finish in Ballarat.
As a Ballarat based business we offer a convenient service for residents of Ballarat and surrounding areas. We do all the planning and depart from Ballarat without the need for an overnight stay in Melbourne before the trip. Thus we are able to head off refreshed without any undue expense or stress for our guests or their carers.
With regards to our Ballarat based holidays we will meet guests at the Ballarat Railway Station. Ballarat is very accessible by public transport and there are frequent train services between Ballarat and Melbourne. See www.vline.com.au for information about timetables.
All Holidays are based on a minimum of 4 guests and a staff client ratio of 1:4. A greater staff support ratio will increase the cost for the individual.
Every attempt is made to keep the holidays affordable and accessible, however not all holidays are suitable for everyone and our staff are available to offer advice about suitability.
Holiday cost includes all transport, accommodation, meals and some activities.
